Q: I just created an account online. How and when do I get my username and password?

Once you create an account, we will receive the request in our office. We will review your household information and email your username and password to you. Please note this can take up to 24 hours. If you submit a request over the weekend or on a Holiday, we will review your request by the next business day.

Q: What do I need for Proof of Residency?

Bring in your driver's license with current address, most recent paycheck stub, a utility bill or a phone bill to our office located on 70th Street. 

Q: How can I change my username and/or password on my account?

Log into your account and click on "My Account" then on "Account Settings". You will be able to change your username and password and/or primary account email. If you forget your username or password, you will need to call our office during main office hours to reset it, 414-604-4900.

Q: I can’t Log In.

Visit our website click on "My Account" or "Register". Log-in the box to the left of the pictures. If you are not already a member, click "Create an Account".  You can "Browse Activities" without being logged in. If you are still having trouble logging in, we can walk it through with you over the phone or via email (wawmrec@wawmsd.org) or 414-604-4900.

Q: I'm having problems finding the class I am looking for when I browse online. 

We suggest resetting your search criteria and either search via the "Keyword" box or by the "Activity Number" search box. When searching by the activity number, enter only the first six digits of the activity number (not anything after the decimal point.)

Q: It tells me my child is not the correct age to register.

The age/grade for your child may be missing or incorrect in your household account. Please call our office at 414-604-4900 to update that information.

Q: How do I add a family member to my account, change family member details or update household information?

Once you create an account and it has been approved, any updates will need to be done by a Recreation Department staff member. You can call our office at 414-604-4900, option 0 or email wawmrec@wawmsd.org and we will be happy to update your account for you.

Q: What should I do if I do not receive a receipt confirmation in my email after registering for a class online?

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam or junk email folders. If you are still unsuccessful, please log into your account and click on "My Account," then "Reprint a Receipt." If you do not see the transaction or if a receipt was never generated, please contact our office at 414-604-4900.

Q: I owe money on my account, what are my options to pay.

1. You can pay towards a balance online if you have an account set up.
           Log in -> My Account -> Pay Old Balances
2. Call with credit card payment over the phone at 414-604-4900 or at our office.
3. Stop in our office and pay with Cash, Check or Money Order.

Q: Do you keep my credit card on file?

For security purposes, we do not save any credit card payment information in our computer system. If you prefer not to give your information over the phone, we recommend signing up for classes online or in person. 

Q: The class I want to register for says "waitlist". What does that mean?

If there is a waitlist for a class, that means the maximum number of participants allowed in the class has been met. You can add your name to the waitlist and if an opening becomes available, we will contact you via phone. You do not need to pay for the class in order to be placed on the waitlist. 

Q: What is your weather cancellation policy?

We cancel recreation programs when the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District closes schools due to severe weather. Our weather related cancellations depend on program location, time or program and outdoor field conditions. If we must cancel an activity due to weather, we update our weather line as soon as we are aware of the cancellation (414-604-4900 option 2) and also post on Facebook. If it's after office hours, please be sure to call the weather line before you leave for your activity. If we don't cancel a class but you are uncomfortable with the weather conditions, please use your own discretion on whether you would like to attend.

Q: When are activity guides published and when can I register for programs?

We publish an Activity Guide three times a year. The fall guide is mailed out at the end of July, the summer guide is mailed out at the end of March and the winter-spring guide is mailed out at the end of November. Please be sure to check the Activity Guide for specific registration dates! It is best to register early so you can be sure to get in the activities you want before they fill up. If you wait too long to register, we may need to cancel the class due to low enrollment.
