Preschool, Early Childhood Instructors

Kim is married and has three children. She began her first teaching job in 1989. Kim taught special education for children with cognitive disabilities for both Madison and Cedarburg public school districts (1989-1996). Kim then took time off to be with her family and raise her children. Once her youngest was in school, Kim began teaching Preschool Adventures for the West Allis-West Milwaukee Recreation Dept. in 2005.

Tamara (Tami) is married and has one daughter. Her daughter is a freshman in high school. Tami keeps busy as her daughter is involved in soccer and volleyball. Tami is the proud owner of two Labrador Retrievers. Tami volunteers at different sporting events and works part time at the Greenfield Middle School in the Media Center and at UPS. In 2009 Tami was approached by a recreation department staff member asking her if she wanted to assist Kim with the Preschool Adventures classes and has been with the program ever since.

When Preschool Adventures first started it was 1 day a week. As the numbers grew throughout the years, the program began growing and now is 4 days a week. Kim and Tami enjoy meeting new families every session. They have a new location for classes at Parkway Center and have more space and excellent resources to help preschool age children learn and grow both emotionally and physically.

Highlights of the Program from Kim and Tami:

  1. Truly enjoy the innocence of the 3 and 4 year old mind!
  2. Enjoy a smile and a hug from a preschooler because it touches their hearts.
  3. Have met so many wonderful and kind families throughout the past 10 years.
  4. Have enjoyed having returning families come back to our program with younger siblings of former students. It just amazes us how quickly they grow up so fast!!!
