Young at Heart
Are you an adult age 55+ looking for some lower intensity exercise, or opportunities to meet some new people in a fun setting? Our Young at Heart Program is for you! These programs are geared towards active older adults in our community looking to stay active and social.
We offer a variety of day trips around Wisconsin and Northern Illinois that allow you to get out and explore with friends. The best part is, you don’t have to worry about driving or parking!
UPCOMING TRIPS | CHICAGO BOTANICAL GARDENS DAY TRIP - THURSDAY, MAY 5th | Spend a relaxing day adventuring through the 385 acres and 26 gardens of the Chicago Botanic Gardens. We start our trip off with a narrated Grand Tram tour showing the entire garden grounds including 81 acres of lakes and 9 garden islands. After that, set out to explore the parts of the garden you want to see most, purchase lunch at the Garden Cafe and shop at the Garden Gift Shop. The bus will depart from the Recreation Center at 9am and return approximately at 4:30pm.
Come dressed to impress as the WAWM RCS Department hosts our first annual Senior Prom! The afternoon starts with a catered meal by Daniel’s Catering followed by a dance with a live band playing your favorites from back in the day. Registration is required but the event is FREE due to the kind support of local organizations. Registration is per person, not per couple.
Cornhole (Bags) League is indoors for winter and spring! Cornhole is a great way to get active and have fun doing it! Teams will get the opportunity to play 2 games each day. This is a great game for everyone to play. Meet new people and get exercise at the same time!
