Adaptive Recreation - Adult
Recreational Adult Day Program (RAD)
The RAD Program is dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities, ages 18 and older, by offering meaningful and engaging opportunities for personal growth and skill development. Our program focuses on enhancing abilities in areas such as daily living, social interaction, vocational training, personal development, and leisure activities. With a strong commitment to fostering independence and inclusion, the RAD Program provides a supportive environment where participants can thrive. We meet Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Recreation Center, and regularly engage in community outings to further connect participants with their surroundings.
This program has been a source of pride for our department and community for 57 years and, because of this, the program is currently at capacity with a waitlist. Our RAD Program serves West Allis and West Milwaukee residents 18 years and older with disabilities. RAD helps our participants learn and grow in the areas of daily living, personal, social, vocational, leisure and recreational skills. If you are interested in learning more about the ways you can help support RAD, please contact Katie Lindgren at [email protected].

Café RAD provides RAD participants with leadership opportunities, real world work experiences and applications of our money management skills, kitchen safety and communication lessons.
We welcome our community members to join us for a cup of coffee during our hours we are open each month!
