Dance is a great outlet for participants to express their creativity and increase their strength, coordination, flexibility, endurance and physical fitness. This year the WAWM RCS Department has adjusted our Dance Program into two seasons; a fall season and a winter/spring season. The fall season will focus on introducing and refining the dance skills in the variety of dance styles. The winter/spring season will do the same with a Showcase planned to celebrate the year. Dancing never ends and we’re happy to provide a Dance program that provides opportunities for children and adults.
Our new 2022 Showcase will include a one-time performance at Nathan Hale High School and a WAWM RCS Department Dance t-shirt for participants. The showcase is planned for the week of March 14th. More details to come.
Has your child ever been amazed by a baton throw that they saw in a parade? Both boys and girls can learn the exciting twirls and the many other skills for baton. Our Baton classes are designed for participants ages 4 - 17. Check out the specific class offerings and schedule on our RecTrac registration page.
A baton is required for the classes and it is advised to contact Program Director, Kathy Kugi-Tom, prior to purchasing.

Diamond Twirlers is a club sport activity under the auspices of the WAWM RCS Department. Our State/Regional Champion Competitive Teams attend dance and baton competitions. The goals of the group are to develop ability within the sport, promote teamwork and leadership skills and to have fun. The Director, Kathy Kugi-Tom, is a registered judge/coach for the National Baton Twirling Association. Team placement is based on tryout scores and participants will be assigned levels prior to the start of the season. Schedules will be confirmed once teams are selected and additional practices could be added as needed. Teams are for ages 4+.
