hi I'm Shelley Stir and I'm proud to lead the West Dallas West Milwaukee recreation community services department this July we're celebrating Park and Recreation month with the national theme of built together play together awesome Recreation are at the heart of a thriving Community whether to building inclusive programs and firing lifelong learning or creating spaces for connection we're proud to help shape a stronger healthier and more Vibrant Community for everyone I'd like to introduce you to some of our incredible staff members who helped make all of this happen I'm an official for softball kickball and and volleyball for the recreation department hi my name is Alyssa tenendo I know it's program hello my name is Dan Williams and I'm a soccer league director here at the rec department hi my name is Ashley dolman I am the preschool teacher here at the rec department I'm Nicole I'm the out of school time specialist for a in action and summer camp the reason I'm in my current part-time position right now after I have a retirement was uh the welcomeness I saw from the rec department and and working with them they made it easy for me that I I wanted to become involved clear is important because it allows people in outlet for their energy it builds Community just through the active participation in different activities um whether it's at a youth level or all with senior level it lets people feel part of something bigger than just themselves I think a lot of community where they can be themselves and they can play the they like visiting the classic we do with the rad program encourages community and encourages group fitness we do high cardio Fitness here and with a group they're cheering on each other they're supporting each other here obviously dancing together they're laughing together and we're moving together the right Department Community we're always focused on growth and expansion when it comes to um always bringing new kids in new families in the community there's so many ways of the parks and rec crates opportunities for people to play together 1 of the ways is just having such a large variety of programming so there's stuff for like little babies and moms to go and then all the way up to like seniors and I love seeing that huge variety I think our community is building more like inclusion and making sure that like everyone has the opportunity to like participate in their programs like even if it's in Aquatics so like after school to like sports together
