The All Abilities Craft Fair will feature vendors of all abilities including classrooms from the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District, local day programs, community artisans and more. This event provides a unique opportunity to showcase the talents of our disability community while still creating a space for all to join.
“My hope is that we continue to elevate the voices of those in the disability community through events and opportunities like this,” Adaptive Recreation and Inclusion Specialist Katie Lindgren said. “I’m proud of the work we continue to do as a department to put a focus on creating these opportunities along with giving local makers a platform to share their work.”
Items will vary from handmade goods, crafts, baked goods and more.Over 30 vendors will be in attendance including, but not limited to, Donna Lexa Art Center, ACAP, Nathan Hale High School, Michelle’s Action Angels and Adult Day Services of Southeast Wisconsin. This event is hosted in partnership with our Adaptive Recreation & Inclusion Specialist and our Special Events Program Manager, bringing together vendors both from within and beyond the disability community.
“I am passionate about showcasing artists and creators in the community and I loved the idea of offering a space for everyone to feel included and supported in their creative work,” Program Manager Maggie Obst said. “Having an inclusive space allows everyone to shine and be recognized for the creative leaders they are, and that makes a real difference in the lives of everyone involved.”
Admission is free and craft purchases are cash only. Concessions will also be available during the event.
