Exploring new places, meeting new faces and discovering our own backyard!
Know Before You Go
- Dress for the weather. If needed, we can leave jackets, umbrellas, ponchos, hiking boots, etc on the bus.
- Bring some spending money. Some trips may include the opportunity to shop.
- A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under 18 years of age.
- Reservations are transferable and may be given to another person if you cannot attend the trip.
- All adult trips depart from the Recreation Center located at 2450 S. 68th Street.
Day Trip to Racine
Enjoy a day in the “Belle City” and learn about Wisconsin’s official state pastry, Kringle, at O & H Bakery. We will begin our day here, where we will get a brief presentation on the history of O & H and how their Kringle is made. Afterward, our group will enjoy samples, shopping, and lunch. Next, we will head downtown to the Racine Heritage Museum where we will have a presentation led by a museum educator about the Racine Belles, a professional women’s baseball team that played in Racine from 1945-1950 which was featured in the movie and TV show, A League of Their Own. Lastly, you will have time to explore downtown’s historic architecture, expansive ethnic restaurants and hip boutiques and galleries.

Day Trip to Oshkosh
Join us as we head to Oshkosh for their Festival of Spring! This outdoor event features the Paine’s annual spring plant sale and numerous vendors of original art, fine crafts, plants and garden supplies. As a great source for a wide selection of perennials, the Paine’s plant sale offers thousands of “tried-and-true” plants as well as new and hard-to-find varieties. Throughout the day, enjoy free admission to the Paine mansion and gardens, tasty food and live entertainment.
